Future dentists of UzhNU mastered advanced methods of detecting infections on the basis of a private diagnostic laboratory

As part of their core subject study, young people visited a modern medical facility to see firsthand the processes of data automation and consolidate their skills in identifying pathogens of various diseases.

Dental students visited the OneLab diagnostic laboratory in Uzhhorod. The purpose of the visit was educational and cognitive: the young people sought to expand their understanding of the features of identifying pathogens of various infectious diseases, acquire practical skills in this matter, and find out how theoretical knowledge in molecular microbiology and immunology can be applied in laboratory diagnostics, which is an integral part of the training of future dentists.

The visit was also aimed at deepening and developing a practical understanding of modern approaches to detecting and identifying pathogens - from microscopy to precise genetic detection.

Diagnostic laboratory "OneLab" is a modern medical institution that provides a wide range of laboratory tests. Local specialists are guided by the principles of evidence-based medicine, strictly adhere to international standards and quality protocols, and also use high-tech equipment that meets the latest achievements in the field of laboratory diagnostics. Thanks to the introduction of innovative technologies, the institution is constantly expanding the list of available tests, ensuring accuracy, speed and reliability of results.

Special attention during the excursion was paid to the organization of laboratory work, automation of processes and digitalization of medical data. Students got acquainted with the information system that allows doctors to quickly place orders, receive research results and analyze them in comparative dynamics. This approach significantly increases the effectiveness of clinical thinking and contributes to well-founded diagnostic and treatment decisions.

The visit took place within the framework of cooperation between the Educational and Scientific Institute of Dentistry and Laboratory Medicine and leading medical institutions of the region, which is aimed at integrating the educational process with practical activities. Such interaction creates favorable conditions for the professional development of students, the formation of clinical thinking in them, as well as understanding the role of laboratory diagnostics in modern medicine, in particular in dental practice.

The excursion was organized on the initiative of Professor Nadiya Boyko as part of the study of the discipline "Microbiology, Virology and Immunology". During the lesson, students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the theoretical aspects of laboratory diagnostics of infectious diseases and directly see the practical application of modern research methods, in particular immunological and microbiological analyses.

During the visit, the tour was conducted, in particular, by cytomorphologist Maksym Ivashko , who is also a postgraduate student in medical and biological disciplines. The students gained valuable experience in communicating with laboratory specialists, got acquainted with the stages of conducting research - from the collection of biological material to the interpretation of the results. Of particular interest were modern methods of diagnosing viral and bacterial infections, which are of great importance in dental practice, in particular in the treatment of inflammatory processes, oral cavity infections and systemic diseases.

Therefore, the excursion became an important element of the educational process, contributing to the consolidation of theoretical knowledge, the development of professional competencies and increasing students' motivation for study and scientific activity. The integration of theory and practice, implemented during this event, is a necessary condition for the training of specialists in the field of dentistry and laboratory medicine.
